HISTORY OF BARANGAY CAIPILAN

This is a short history of why our Barangay is named ‘CAIPILAN”. The word Caipilan is derived from the trees called “IPIL”, which in the early past grows in many areas in our Barangay most especially in the mountain side. But nowadays, these IPIL trees are rarely found because some of our farmers cut them out for the purpose of making “KAINGIN” for a living without replacing or planting new trees. But the name or footprints of Caipilan still remain of what it was before.

Barangay Caipilan has the total land area of 4,359,680 square meters. It is one of the 42 Barangays and one of the largest in total land area. It is composed of 373 households and 1,509 inhabitants.
